Sequoia National Park Giant Forest

The Giant Forest is one of the most popular attractions in Sequoia National Park. This massive forest is home to some of the world's largest trees, including the General Sherman Tree, which is the largest tree in the world by volume. In fact, five of the 10 most massive trees in the world are located within Sequoia National Park's Giant Forest! Adventure seekers can explore this fascinating forest on a number of different trails, ranging from easy to strenuous.

Crystal Cave

Another popular attraction in Sequoia National Park is the Crystal Cave. This beautiful cave is filled with sparkling crystals and is a must-see for any adventure seeker. The best way to explore the cave is on guided tours, which are offered daily. Long curtains, towering stalagmites, deep rimstone pools, helictite mounds of angular or curving growth forms (called "helictites"), and 10-foot diameter shields are just a few of the fascinating cave formations. The caves are home to a colorful collection of minerals, including hydromagnesite. Along cave walls, ceilings, and floors, they create blue, green, yellow, black, white, orange, and red deposits and formations. The park's caves include rooms 100 feet in diameter and tiny passageways that are barely big enough for a small person to crawl through. Some caves contain active water courses, while others are dry and inactive remnants of previous water-flow patterns.

Moro Rock

Moro Rock

Moro Rock is a massive granite dome that towers over Sequoia National Park. Adventure seekers can get an up-close look at this amazing rock formation by hiking to the top of it. The hike to the top of Moro Rock is not for the faint of heart, but it is definitely worth it for the incredible views. The top of Moro Rock is reached by a concrete and stone stairway with a total of 350 steps. The Great Western Divide's peaks become apparent as soon as you are but a short distance from the parking lot and above the forests' canopy. Views open up as you go, starting with the foothills and San Joaquin Valley to the west, then vistas into the wilderness to the east.
